When a loved one passes away and is buried, they need to have some sort of marker that indicates that their grave. There are a lot of different choices to consider when it comes to picking out the best headstone monument for your loved one. If you would like to make sure that you are going to end up with the best possible marker, consider having a custom headstone made. Here are some tips for creating the perfect headstone:
Add A Favorite Quote
Is there a favorite quote that the deceased used to use all of the time? Maybe it was sort of their tagline. Then again, maybe there is a line from a movie that you both had a love for and would always quote that line to each other. Whatever it is, if it holds significance in regards to that person's personality, consider having it engraved on the headstone.
Have A Picture Added
Not as many people add pictures to headstones anymore but it is still a wonderful addition to make to a custom headstone. Many people will select a picture that is a full-face shot and that is a nice representation of them in their time on earth. There might be a couple of different options for the picture headstones. The monument store may have the ability to etch a picture into the stone or they might encase an actual photo in hard plastic and attach that to the stone.
Consider A Different Shape
You do not have to stick with a certain shape or size of headstone. However, you will need to consider any rules that the cemetery might have. If they have rules that restrict the types or sizes of headstones, you always have the option to pick another burial site if the funeral has not happened yet. Then again, some cemeteries will allow larger monuments, but only if there is an empty burial plot next to the one you purchased, and you agree to purchase that one as well. This ensures that there will be enough space for what you want to do. So instead of a flat stone, consider a large cross or sculpture.
As you can begin to see, there are a lot of different ways you can set up the design of the headstone to make it more unique and more personalized. To learn more, contact a company that provides headstone monuments.Share
